Hawkeye Community College Responding to a critical need for skilled workers in Iowa
Hawkeye Community College had its grand opening for its new $5.4M Automation and Robotics Center at the TechWorks Campus in downtown Waterloo.
One of the most advanced technological centers in the U.S., the Automation and Robotics Center will provide training focusing on advanced smart factories, robotics, and mechatronics technologies.
During the ceremony, Hawkeye announced its award of a $5M grant from the Department of Labor for the Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs Grant Program. The investment will allow for the design, development, and growth of training programs with work-based learning opportunities to prepare job seekers for high-demand career pathways in advanced manufacturing, information technology, and professional, scientific, and technical service occupations.
