Ron Slinger

President of Miles Community College

In January 2020, Dr. Ron Slinger became the 9th President of Miles Community College which is located in Miles City, Montana. Prior to taking this position, he served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Strategic Partnerships, and Workforce Solutions at Red Rocks Community College in Colorado. During his career, he has raised over $36 million dollars in capital needs, scholarships, academic program support, and student support services. Ron has a long track record of building strategic partnerships that benefit the community, employers, and the faculty, staff, and students of the college he is working for. In 2023, Montana Governor, Greg Gianforte, appointed Ron to a seven-year term on the Montana Board of Public Education. He also currently serves on the American Association of Community Colleges Small and Rural Colleges Commission. Ron is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Miles City Area Economic Development Council. He is Board Secretary for both the Mountain States Association of Community Colleges and the Montana Nonprofit Association. Ron is also a Board Member of the Montana Chamber of Commerce and the Holy Rosary Healthcare Foundation.

Ron has a long track record of public service having been elected to four public offices: County Commissioner, Mayor, City Council, and School Board. He holds a Doctorate in Community College Leadership from Ferris State University (Michigan). He completed the prestigious Aspen Institute’s New President’s Fellowship in 2022. Ron holds a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Student Affairs from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) and a Bachelors Degree in Communications from The Defiance College (Ohio).

Susan Snelick

President of Northern Pennsylvania Regional College

Susan Snelick is proud to serve as President of Northern Pennsylvania Regional College (NPRC) for the past three years. Her vision is to ensure that NPRC is a strong economic driver for our region; preparing individuals for family-sustaining careers through education and training. Susan was a member of the inaugural board of trustees for NPRC and is honored to serve our ten-county rural region and make this dream a reality for our undeserved region.
Her professional experience includes extensive workforce development expertise, having served as the Executive Director of Workforce Solutions for North Central PA and holding various other workforce development leadership positions in the region spanning nearly three decades.

Susan currently serves on the board for the Center for Rural Pennsylvania.
Her volunteer positions include: the Regional Liaison for the National Association of Workforce Boards, member of the Governor’s Middle-Class Task Force from 2017-2018, member of the Appalachian Higher Education Network, chairperson of the PA Workforce Development Association (four years), and member of the Boys and Girls Club.
